Default y8 manifold and the injectors

I have a 99 hatch dx and I am going to do a manifold swap. I just need to know if I should keep the y8 injectors or should I swap out the injectors for the y7. I also I have all the parts for a mini me swap I just dont have a head gasket nor head bolts. so the ? is if I keep the y7 and y8 tranny and boost it will I be able to boost higher then if I was to do a mini me?

keep the injectors you currently have.

The biggest other difference is the tranny. Switch to a ex one if you can. I've heard this is a major improvement over your stock dx/lx one and can yeild as much as 1 sec in the 1/4 mi.

good luck

so I should keep the y8 injectors that are in the y8 manifold and it should work on my dx head.

You should use the injectors you originally had. The y7 ones. There will be no gain from y8 injectors.

If you are planning on boosting your y7 dont put the y8 head on it, because if you want to get down and dirty with tunning the engine vtec gets in the way!!! Sometimes vtec is not always a good thing. I am very happy with my y7 boosted @ 8 psi without the vtec head on it!!! You will also want to increase your injectors too, Iam running RC 310cc now.

for a street tuned car, the vtec wont hurt anything. TUNING = key word. and he isnt doing a head swap, just the IM swap. big difference. much better air flow with bigger TB bore. what are your numbers ib your y7 turbo?

I haven't put my car on the dyno yet, but I took it to the drags last month and ran a 14.5 @ 96mph. (Full street gear and still rock'n the stock tires!!LOL)

turbo y7: swap out your y7 im for a y8. Definite double digit gains.
