hey don't mean to jack the thread, but I have a similar question and this dude isn't being more specific.
How about I get the entire ac system off a 95 vic and try to put it on a 92. What will I have to do, just plug and play? retrofit? how hard will all this be (i'm a noob, but still think I can do it)

Im guessing that it would be a direct replacement. I believe that both systems are R12 refrigerant. I would reccomend that this would be done by a professional that has the tools and the knowledge to do this.

if you have everything off the 95, you should be good to go. 94+ use R134a. the only important differences are the seals on the lines. R134a will eat through the seals on a R12 system

You can buy a recharge kit from Napa. just look at the specs for yourcar and fill it accordingly. You don't need a professional to fill the system only to drain.
Nowadays most retrofit kits are compatable with older systems so you dont have to change the seals.

ok so what about the a/c out of a 94 del sol into a 93 4dr civic? do you think the lines and everything are the same?? my 4dr used to have air and the old owner tore it out, now i want it back in and have access to all the a/c parts from a del slo.

The seals are different and so is the refrigerant oil used with 134a. Its also important to note that 134a requires higher pressures over r12.. In this case, a conversion should not cause any issues. I had mine converted before I pulled it out and it seemed to work just dandy. 134a doesn't "eat" seals on r12 systems either.
