Default idle problem high...low...high...low...high...low...ect

My son has a 92 EX with a idle problem. The car starts fine but the idle goes up and down. The car at idle will go from normal to very high RPM then back down then continue the cycle. It will do this several times a minute. Anyone have any idea what the problem might be??

Thanks

check your vacuum hoses..make sure none of them are pinched or is leaking. Clean out your throttle body with some carb cleaner. Assuming the car has been properly maintained, if the problem is still there, it's the idle air control valve that needs to be replaced.
