Default z6head/y8 block combo...which timing belt?

I am going to be swapping out my y8 head this week for a better flowing z6 head. Any idea what timing belt would work best? We did this in the past on a friend's car, but i can't remember if the y8 belt we used was tight enough or not.

I was asking this earlier... was trying to just use my z6 head since it was complete over the y8 head but to my understanding the teeth on y8 cam gear are the same. So wouldn't it not make a difference which was used?

to my knowledge, you use the belt that came off the head so, z6 head swap, z6 timing belt, But i could be wrong

Use the same timing belt for the same head and it should match up. the teeth are pretty much the same. well they are

well the z6 and y8 cam gears have the same amount of teeth so it has to do with something else.

SOHC, what headbolts are you going to use for this? I've actually heard of a few issues between the mix and match and was interested to hear which you're going to use.

Damn I wish I could remember..I used a mix of both. Either 1 z6 and the rest y8 or the other way around. Anyways, PM Br1anpham, and he will tell you what he ordered from arp, it was custom for z6/y8 hybrids.
