Default 1993 EX Sedan performance

I have bought a 93 EX civic with a D15B7 5 Speed sedan. I was wondering wondering if anyone have ran theirs down the quartermile? I read somewhere that a stock DX ran high 16s. I also read that a EX has a lower geared tranny, would this make and sort of difference?

The EX models come with the D16Z6 engine, not the D15B7. D15B7 comes in the LX and DX models.

Yes, the D16Z6 equipped vehicles come with a lower geared transmission. Yes, this constitutes to a lower quarter mile time, it's obvious.

Most good drivers can make it down the 1/4 mile in the high 16s with a DX. Probably low to mid 16s with an EX (considering they are a bit heavier with all the extras it comes with ie. power windows, doors, cruise, etc..etc..etc..).

^ and to add to that...16's are what it's SUPPOSED to do in the 1/4 mile...not necessairly what it does...some motors have been known to be a bit faster then what they should be

Thanks for the replies. I am confused my car has the power windows, abs, cruise etc.. it says EX on the trunk lid. But on the flat surface on the engine it says D15B7. Also on the underside of the hood it says its 91 C.I (1.5l). Is there any wat i can tell by the VIN what this car really is? Thanks.

Are you in Canada? If not, and you are in the US, and you have an EX, then someone downgraded your engine. Or you have a LX with the ABS option, with someone swapping the decals.

My LX is all power but, I don't have ABS I'm not sure if they come with that not sure what the DX has I believe it has some similiar things to the LX besides engine and tranny.
