Default IDLE QUESTION

does anyone know why tach reads 500 rpm when actually its at 1200? this is really wierd i noticed this when i was checking the timing. the timing light gave me around 1200 when i started it but the tach was at 500. this is wierd. any help would be appericated, by the way the car is a 91 crx si

well i know that our stock tachs are a good bit off

Make sure its warmed up first before checking timing. as it warms up, idle speed drops.
