Default Very odd vibration...(1991 Crx)

This is strange, it just started last week...
Sounds like a very bad unbalanced tire, lots of vibration at high speed. I can't pinpoint it, because it only makes the vibration with the car moving @ 60 MPH.

So far this is what I did:
I changed both front wheel bearings today... no luck (although the car drives so much smoother ... hehe) I also swapped front wheels to the rear... Alignment was done as well...oh..and my driveshafts are fine...

My mechanic told me that the front right caliper is seized and that what is causing the vibration at high sppeds...
There is a slight squeel when the car is rolling slowly...

I had the front end looked at and everything seems to be tight.
Anybody have a problem like this before / know what this could be

yeah, has to be brake related if you checked everything else. Warped rotors are a possibility. If you have a seized caliper, then it sounds like your brakes are in for some long needed attention anyway.

well just to throw it out there, my 84 prelude had a wicked shimmy in the front end right about 64 mph. i replaced the ball joints and tie rod ends and it went away for good. might check those on your car. just a thought.

ahh but it could be an easy fix. Where is the vibration coming from? I am guessing the front wheels.

Yeah it's coming from the front.. I'm gonna have it checked again tomorrow..

no idea.. it came with the car when I bought it.. I think it's a dynomax muffler or magnaflow..It's 2.5" piping, no resonator.

I have the same problem with my car.. seems to be a big problem lately. I checked for play in the hub, and the steering rack is loose, I'm thinking thats where my noise is coming from

would warped rotors or faulty caliper cause a steering wheel vibration at 60 mph ???

have you ruled out an unbalanced tire?

If the front end was checked they should have been able to tell you if a tie rod or something like that was out. But if you want to check it jack the car up and grab each side of the tire and see if there is any movement moving it back and forth (play in the motion, not the steering wheel moving).

I would doubt it'd be a warper rotor as that would be constantly rubbing, not just at 60mph.

I only feel the steering vibrate @ 60 mph !!!
It cant be an unbalanced tire.. we swapped the front tires to the rear and it still does it...
If it was a tie rod, there would be clicking/baging noises over bumps .

that will do it. for sure.

i kind of simulated it last week when i had brake pedal issues and was slightly dragging my brakes. once i got to freeway speeds, whole car shook like my wheels were falling off.

siezed caliper is basically accentuating your warped rotor, constantly.

try to lube the caliper to reduce any stiction. but your caliper piston and seal probably need to be rebuilt. easiest to just repalce the caliper in general.

check your tires. maybe it has a bump on it.

cause this vibration happened to me too before.. it was a loud vibration @ 50-70mph. i had my tires balanced but still there.. then i checked my tires and one of the tires had a bump on it.

i maybe wrong. but check the tire for bumps
