Default OBD0 - OBD1 Issues..

Hey, I just put a JDM B16A into my Civic EG2 the engine came with a PW0 ecu and ofcourse my car is OBD1 and plugs for ECU wont line up...and the engine was built with Type R internals and since the PW0 ecu would not work in my car Iwas forced to use the stock p28 Single cam vtec ecu and the engine is not running to its potential...Vtec does not kick in hard at all and I know I should be getting way more power out of this engine..a friend of mine told me to get an OBD1 to OBD0 Conversion Harness he told me to to call hasport for it I did and they said there is no such thing ? then I was told to get a P30 and Im lost and dont know what to do is there such thing as that harness if so can someone tell me where to get if not just give me some advice on what to do...thanks

Well You have a couple of options here...You could get the jumper harness to be able to run that PW0 but you would efbe converting bacwards to older electronics and also have to use an OBD0 distributor so that is not desireable.

Or you could just get a P30 and that would run your setup fine but not to it's fullest popental either.

My reccomendation would be to chip that P28 with custom maps for your particualr setup to get the most out of it.

Check out http://www.pgmfi.org for more info on chipping ECU's

Man theres no other way? because I cant send away my ECU then I will be out of a car and I cannot be out of a car...and I know Chipping can be done at home my dad could probably do it...but any instuctions / tips of the chips I need...a p30 wouldnt run my engine the way it runs any other b16...? I mean to have Vtec hit hard and get the power

hondata. it comes with all the parts needed, and their website has all the info to solder it together. then jest get someone in your area to burn a chip with the base maps. or hook up with someone on pgmfi.org that can burn the chip for you using hondata and send it to you, they would more than likely only charge for the cost of the chip and shipping. I have the p28 ecu running my jdm b16 and hondata works great.

I would not reccomend converting backwards to obd0. if you time it right the chip can be to you before you even need to solder the hondata in place, then your car is only down for a few hours while you solder everything in.

chip the p28, or buy an already chipped one, they are pretty common.
