Default Cry02 vs. Nitrous Oxide

whats the difference? Cry02 seems promising, but is it safe? and can it be used in High Compression engines?

Nitrous is forced induction, cryo2 just cools the intake air charge.

now there is ALOT more to nitrous than most people think. I'd sugest reading up on it just for ***** n giggles.

As for the cryo2 it makes the intake very cold. But i can only see that being good to an extent.

so its safe to use on high compression engines then? my 11.5 jepistons wont allow me to use nitrous. it even says it in their site. but what about cry02?

Waste of money, the only way id use it would be to cool an intercooler

On those pistons, Id say 75-100, but Id only go DP on that setup.

It actually has a purpose there. Cry02 is ok for n/a, but is killer for f/i.

As for nitrous. Make sure you have a good tune, and I wouldn't go above 75 on those pistons.

Wasabi - The big difference that some people have alluded to, but never explicitly stated, is that the liquid CO2 from the CryO2 system is not actually combusted (unlike Nitrous). Going by some of your questions, I wasn't sure if this was clear yet...

It is never intentionally introduced into the air/fuel stream (unlike Nitrous). DEI is using it to super-cool various heat sinks; whether they be a fuel bar, intercooler, or bulb inside the air intake tube. That in turn gives you a cooler/denser intake charge. As far as it being safe for an engine (when correctly installed), I would guess it is no more harmful than driving on a winter day when the system is active (its just cold air and/or fuel).

i c your point. i dont know why people keep telling me to spary a lil nitrous when the JE website says these pistons werent made for it.

JE means that those pistons arent good for a big nitrous motor. If your gonna get serious and spray a 200 shot or whatever then you need to start lowering the compresson.

screw zex, go NX, run a 50, I guarantee youll be fine. If I can run more than that on cast type s pistons, youll be fine on far stronger forged

If used right it will list along time. I know guys with ludes that have ran 40+ bottles through them no prob. Like anything, get a oil cooler and maybe an rpm switch. Other than that just use it responsibly

Idiots are the only people that talk **** on nitrous. JUST LIKE ANY OTHER PART ON YOUR CAR, YOU CANT JUST SLAP IT ON!! You have to compensate for the added fuel that nitrous will burn by retarding ignition timing. To get the most power out of the setup you choose you will have to fine tune the motor. period. N2o will mess your enigne up IF you dont know what your doing (compensate). Spray 75 to be safe with just ignition timing tuning (55shot is said to be safe at stock timing, i retard 2 degrees, then for every "10 shot" higher, 2 additional degrees. If your pistons are forged and you got good rings, spray all day

i have JE forged pistons and EVERYTHING is upgraded (all fuel components, all ignition components, etc.- i dint miss a thing) except for the oil stuff (oil cooler, oil pan, oil pump). i even got a new radiator. my friend told me that if u mess with one thing, u gotta do sumtin to other stuff. so i decided to cover everything. i was just worried that nitrous would eat up my pistons or mess up my ferrea valves. like i said, i dont know much about nitrous [or Cry02] so thats why i posted this topic

its really good ask first!

i really know nothing about n02 as well. i figure if the car cant do it just by hitting the gas, it shouldnt do it. but ill get my *** handed to me by someone spraying on a similar setup... engine life matters to me is all.

good info about the JEs and a small shot, but how long have people run that setup before wear and tear becomes an issue?

Nitrous is like crak. one hit and you cant quit. is cheap (like a 5 dollar rock). slap it on. hit it once.. hit it twice. hit it and hold it.. and KABOOM!. piston top, rings whatever are toast..

Properly set up, tuned works great. Since nitrous dumps instance oxygen into the system, if you lean out (full pump runs out of capacity, fuel nozzle clogs or similar hickups...) and your done. its too fast for you to react and take your finger off the trigger.

and finally (i luv this one..) saw a picture once on the net (al-quaida types please stop reading now..) guy had a tank in his trunk with a warmer. warmer squeezes the last bit ouf NAWS out or increases the pressuer or something similar by heating the NAWS tank.. Now NAWS tanks supposed to have a pressure release valve that pops over a certain pressure.. this guy somehow left the warmer blanket on in his garage.. and the relief valve failed.. and the tank exploded. I swear pictures of the car and garage looked like one of those VBIEDs (vehicle bourne improvised explosive device) you see on the streets of bagdad after their drivers have gone to visit allah...
