OK so i was installing fog lights on my 91 ef. during the install, i was connecting the power wire to teh battery and a big spark came out. foglights work and so does everything else, but the motor wont start! it makes the noise like it wants to start, but wont! we tried jump starting it, check fuses, and now we dont know what to do! PLEASE HELP!!!

Is the ecu showing any codes?

 

ok so i went to pepboys and asked the guys @ servie dept. they said that it could be ignition coil or distributer, or in a severe case, the ecu. we checked all fuses, and all are okae. i picked up another distributer from CODY_eFsquaD and also his old ecu... lets see if this is teh cure!

Sometimes if you don't have a good connections to to the battery, the car will have power, but not a good enough connection to turn the car, make sure the connections are clean and have good contact. That happened to me a couple of times.

did you check the fuses under the hood with the black cover over it , there is a main fuse in there and if it is blown you will get zero power

 

what about main relay? could that be the problem?

 

thanx to everyone for thier help! found teh problem earlier... it was actually teh ecu... but like i said earlier, i picked up parts from CODY_eFsquad! and he gave me a ecu so it came in handy!
