Ok I am just trying to figure out what would be the highest temp that I should be reading on my EGT gauge before bad stuff happens
.
I have a stock internally D16Z6 with the JRSC and the stock pulley. The probe is basically down at the bottom of the header basically where all four runners meet. I dont know what temp all my stock internals will take a **** on me at. Can anyone here help me out?

that's the only correct way i've heard of doing it, atleast with turbos. it's supposed to be that far up because the closer to the head, the hotter the temperature. think about it: what would be the point of having the probe read the cooler air? you definitely want to read the hottest air coming out, and it's said that the 3rd runner is the hottest for some reason i don't know of.
