Default Hondata Nitrous Control help (tried searching)

As far as i know my nitrous control is wired correctly, but if the relay to the solenoid is plugged in the solenoid will open when the ignition is turned on. it doesnt matter if the arming switch is on or not. any ideas why this is? any help is greatly appreciated.

Did you use the power steering or A/C input on the ecu?

I didn't know you could use the evap purge. I wired mine just like this. I used B8 and A20.

yeah thast how mine is wired.... a20 is the purge control solenoid... unless i hooked up teh wrong wire.... ummm.. .anyone w/ an obd2 know what wire it is? cuz i konw that diagram is for the obd1.

When i hooked mine up i used the wires that had the same abreviation as the ones w/ the obd1 even though they are not in the same pin location.. could this be it?

or should i use the output from the same pin location... A20 and B8

btw i have the obd2 converted p28 if that makes a difference

Make sure your rom image has been updated with the latest version of Romeditor....v3.6.4.0....file, convert rom, save the file after converting and reburn.

Oh yeah, you're right it is the purge control solenoid. I was thinking it was another power steering sensor. I am also using a OBD2 -> OBD1 P28. hmmmmm.....I am willing to bet the problem is the relay. Have you pulled it out and tested it yet? It is probably stuck at 87 all the time and not switching off to 87a.

i tried another relay and it did the exact same thing.. man this sucks!

ryan, which pins do you have the control wired to on the OBD2 just to double check mine....

if it helps i can check the voltage from each wire to the relay and the input and output from the ecu... maybe that would help someone solve the problem

ok question, with the switch on the nitrous sprays when the ignition is on.

Have you tried actually hitting the WOT and such that the nitrous is suppose to kick on at? If so, does the nitrous turn OFF then? If so, you have the wire comming off of 87 and the wire off of 87A switched. (if there is only 1 wire instead of the two i said then you have the wire on the wrong pin). 87A gets power when the relay is "off". 87 gets power when the relay is "on".

Looking at the picture this is your most likely cause. If you do have the wire on 87A instead of 87, then as soon as you turn the switched +12 wire on, the voltage is gonna hit the selinoid, causing the nitrous to spray. Double check the output wire from the ECU going to the pin 86 or whatever it was. Connect your POS on the meter to the battery, hook the NEG up to that wire. It shouldn't read anything when the ignition is switched on. if it comes up +12 then you have the wrong wire on the ECU, or the ECU is stuck sending the ground signal on that pin.

If it comes up nothing, then the ECU is most likely working properly and you have the right pin, inwhich case it's most likely that pin 87 and 87A deal. (BTW, pin 87A should be the middle pin of the relay if it's the normal car style relay, all your wires should be connected to the 4 outter pins, with the middle pin being empty.).
