Default Body wire harness issue, anyone that knows wiring help me out TIA!

I have a 1991 2dr civic dx. My ecu connectors got cut so I need to install a new body harness. I have been having one hell of a time finding one at a parts yard in good condition. I found one in a 1990 4dr dx and pulled that today. I brought it home and layed it out and went over all the connectors on it and my original (91 2dr) harness. I noticed that there are a few connectors my new harness has that my old one doesnt, and vice versa. Does the 4dr have too many differences to use its harness, or is there some way I can adapt it to work in my car. If anyone needs more info to help me in the matter just ask away, or tell me what the **** to do! Will the only plug and play harness be one from a 91 dx 2dr??

If your ecu connector are cut. Couldnt you just repair them?

there is no way to tell which wire goes where unless you cut the entire harness open and trace every wire. that is a lot of work and with all the wires, most likely wont end up working right.

Are the wires only cut at the ecu and how many of them?

fyi, the 90 CRX harness would have different climate control wiring, since its electronic and yours is mechanical. Diff plugs probably, less wires.. cluster should work.

If your thinking of replacing the main body harness, you will have a major headache on your hands. I have done this before, swaping in the crx dash and controls into a hatchback. That harness starts at the left front lights, along the left side into the engine bay and throught the firewall, under the NVH pad, along the inside of the cabin, out the right side and back to the front right lights. It would be better for you to just solder back the wires that obviously go together, and ohm out the remaining ones, with the help of an OEM manual and ETM manual.

hatchback and crx wiring harnesses are really different, mainly at the climate control, so i'd assume the 4door ones are different, too.

if i were switching around the chassis harnesses, i'd get one out of an si, so that it has a non-hackjob mpfi already, and i'd run the wires for vtec and whatnot through the main harness up to the plug even if i didn't have vtec, just because that's the best time to run them.

i know of someone with a complete 91 si hatch harness, but it's kinda pricey and i was thinking of doing some work for him to trade for it, but if you REALLY need it i'll contact him for you.

pm'ed you guys. yeah, having a complete si hatch wiring harness (engine and body) would be great. thats what I would preferably do, its just getting a hold of one. hopefully you can hook it up on a side note, does anyone know if the 4dr harness I have can be easily made to work in my car??
