cut valve cover for cam gears??
is this really necessary....i lined up my old cam gears with the new ones and the sizes are identical...why would i have to cut the valve cover???old ones were pr3 and new ones are aem
You cut the valve cover so you can advance or retard the timing of the cams, the cam gears should be the same size as stock because they are for that engine.
You don't HAVE to cut the valve cover. But then it sort of defeats the purpose of having adjustable cam gears: being able to quickly and easily adjust the cam timing. Having to take the valve cover and crap off to do that doesn't really sound like fun to me.
