Default Greddy 18g controlling flapper

Alright I've the searches and found nothing related to this. Can I put a manual boost controller to manage the internal wasgate from over boosting?

a MBC will only allow you to increase the boost till your motor blows up (overboost). you cant lower the boost.

No. Boost controllers only let you run MORE boost. You can never run less boost (than the WG spring rating) with a boost controller.

It wont turn it down but could it help regulate it at a steady boost level?

It won't be any steadier than it was before the boost controller.

Damn it. So porting the flapper hole is the only choice huh?

IIRC the 34mm flapper won't fit in there. The greddy uses a small flapper...

Damn I guess there is no other way around it huh? I was hoping there was. Oh well. But I can control how high it goes with either upgrading to an external wastegate or a an mbc tuned with hondata?

On Electronic boost controllers with a stepper motor solenoid, it is possible to relieve some of the spiking that is appearent, but that must be set precisely to do it. Blitz, Greddy, and Apex'i all have boost controllers w/ solenoids to assist in controlling spike.

The best way is to port the WG hole itself, by about 1-2mm, and it should also assist in the correction.

if all else fails, go old school and install a bypass valve. I saw a thread on here where a guy made a bypass valve from a radiator cap.

I think I've read somewhere that you can put a softer spring in the internal wastegate for the greddy and then run the boost off an electronic boost controller more precisely.....

This bypass valve you speak of is for not allowing boost spike?

Basically you install a valve - much like a BOV - that opens when a certain pressure is on it. It's an old-school trick, but it works. If the thing opens at 10 PSI, the charge pipes will not see more than 10 PSI. Of course, such things play havoc on MAF cars.

I am internally wastegated and I was overboosting for a while until I adjusted the wastegate actuator arm and it lowered it by 2psi
