Sub -> Amp WIRING Easy Quick Question. *PIC*
Hey guys, just a quick question so I dont blow anything up or nto run my system to its full potential
Ive got an Audiobahn AW1206T sub and a Clarion DPX 1000.2 amp that I wanna bridge and run with the sub, now I dont know anything about 10hm, 20hm and such but the amp is 1ohm stable an I want this little cheap stereo to pump so Ill assume I can go with 1ohm right? Id like to
Anyways, I dont know how to wire from one side of the sub to the other and from the sub to the amp so I drew a pic hopefully someone can fill in or explain

Thanks

that audiobahn AW1206T is a dual 4ohm woofer so you would only be able to hook up the woofer/amp to a 2ohm setup.
run one wire to the (+), (+), on the woofer; one wire to teh (-) , (-) on the woofer, and then one wire to the the (+) from the amp to either (+) on the woofer, and one wire from the (-) of the amp to either (-) on the woofer

I dont quite get it yet
In that pic it has only one set of ( + - ) on each side of the sub, I have 2
Thats were Im getting mixed up and what which terminal to go from the sub to the amp with
thanks guys

Your sub should have TWO positive terminals and TWO negative terminals. It is a dual voice coil sub so there should be a total of 4 terminals on the back of the sub. adrian1281 had a great diagram, his first diagram for the 2 ohm load is the way to go. Wire BOTH of the positive terminals from your sub to the SINGLE positive terminal on your AMP. Then run BOTH of the negative terminals from your sub the the SINGLE negative terminal on your AMP. Your amp will see a mono 2 ohm load and that way you will get the most output from your sub. Don't worry, you're still going to get more than enough output with the 2 ohm wiring.

What's not to get? Look at the picture!

Is is exactly the same as your drawing, except it shows the wires and doesn't have a blue box. But other than that, it is exactly the same! With only one subwoofer, you've only got two options: Wire it in 2ohms (first picture) or 8ohms (second picture). To get the most power you want to wire it to 2ohms.

Can anyone finish my diagram quickly up top with how the wiring should go</TD></TR></TABLE>
If you can't do basic wiring, you must be! But atleast your not afraid to admit it. If your still afraid, take it to CarToys/BestBuy/Circuit City, and pay them $50 to have them do something you can do for free.

Give the guy a brake, he said he's confused because he has 2 pos. (+) and 2 neg. (-) terminals for each VC, so 4 pos. (+) and 4 neg. (-) , Multi-connect Lug Lock Terminals.
WOT .... just treat the "double" set of terminals as one, you can use ether one, they just give you 2 so it is easier to connect the speaker wires when you have more then one sub, [when you have to run a wire from one sub to another one] sorry, I wish I could show you a pix, but when it comes to computers, I am stupid

Yeah audiobahn has some stupid terminal designs. Don't worry about the one on the doubles.
