Default burning oil

well to start i have a 2000 civic si.. she is kept in a garage so i know she is not leaking it... i did a dry compression test and compression is good all holding around 190 to 200.. she had about 74k miles on her... im gessing its either valve seals or my oil rings but i dont know how to go about checkin either of those... i know the compression test only really tells me about my compression rings but not my oil rings... and how am i gonna test my valve seals with the car off.... lol ... i drive about... 120 miles a day and i have to add about 1 quart every... 3 days.. since im using moble one.... lol its kinda costing me a lot so i want to figure out the problem i just did my oil change like... 700 miles ago and i notice that the oil gets dirty pretty quickly for being a synthetic... ne suggestion ne one might have i would appreciate deeply .. thx for ur time guys...

well mainly in the second cylinder there is a lil bit of white coating on them but they all look fine besides that... and... wouldnt a leak down test tell me the same as a compression test.??

Also if you notice smoke coming out of the exhaust when you're at idle or when you're just starting up the car, it usually means that your valve stem seals are finished. If it smokes when the engine is under load, then it usually means that the piston rings need to be changed.

I had the same problem so I had the rings changed and the valve seals replaced and it appears to be ok up til now.

i have the same problem with my 00 Si, and everyone has been telling me that it is my rings. its most likely ur rings. ur compression test is pretty high, is it supposed to be in the 200's, cause i did one on mine and i did 160 through 3 cylinders and a fricken 135 on one of them. then again it was turbo before. check to see if u blow out smoke when u get on it
