...i was going to go with a 4.57 final drive but my boy just told me that an 04 tranny would be better ...since 1-4 gear are shorter and 5-6 are the same ...is that true? ...and how much and where can i get an 04 tranny?

I'm not a fan of the new tranny, but that's me. too much shifting in autocrosses and too much shifting around the track.</TD></TR></TABLE>
it'd be easier to do the gears...
but when you actually look @ the ratios that they gave the my04+, the ratios will give you the same effect that you would get with adding gears. EXCEPT, for one big thing. 6th gear is going to be a little longer, which means more relaxed highway cruising. which i would love to have...i'd love to have something stupid like 2.5 or 3k when in 6th gear @ 70 mph.

i wouldn't say that its NOT comfortable, but its just a matter of what speed you want to cruise at. Comparing 75-80 mph on stock FD vs 60-68 (depending on gearing) on aftermarket FD. [this is given that you're cruisng at the same rpm] i remember in my old crx, when i was @ 64 mph, i was cruising at 4400 rpm.
