Help! This car is Mase tuned and running sweet until I started getting tach jump. Changed over the ignitor and its all hunky dorey. Thing is.. when changing the ignitor I used a brand new OEM rotor arm to replace the slightly suspiciously 'fried' one (one leading edge is pitch black and also the plastic is slighty melted). 1 week of happy driving, its now its created a slight misfire under high rpm (8k onwards WOT) but part throttle it seems to be ok?!
.. I took the cap off and saw the arm again black on 1 side and heavily scorched..
My ignition setup is MSD Digital 6 with external coil, MSD cap, Magnecor leads (8.5mm) with NGK BCPR7ES gapped to Mase specs (0.026)
Please help! I'm running outta money buying rotor arms ! (or could it be a more sinister problem?) Its definately got us stump over here...
Thanks in advance.

agreed. That or your just running too much amperage through the ignition system. Removing the MSD will also cure that.

I think it is.
I've had several MSD's fry on me. No reason to use MSD unless you need it, when you start having high horsepower ignition issues, then fine.

check the teeth looking things on the inside of your distributor cap. One might be bent, and nicking your rotor as it rotates and ******* it up.
I had the screw back out of my rotor, and shoot right out of my distributor cap. Who's knows how long I was running it that way. I noticed that it bent one of the teeth looking things on the inside of the cap and my rotor looked a little beat up... Just something to look at.
Good luck!
