Default NEED HELP on 91 octane LSVTEC build up ?

I know alot of u probably see these questions pop up all the time but bare with me.

I gotta b18b block layin around and im trying to piece a lsvtec together as a back up motor.

my questions is what are the C/ R on GSR head using ?
jdm P30 b16a pistons ?
us P73 itr pistons ?

i would like to keep my C/R around 11.0 and no more.

if i buy a new distributor obd1 would it come with vtec solenoid?
is it worth buy a block guard?

would 270cc injector be good enough to make average lsvtec setup? would i be able to make 190-200hp ?

pretty much stock ls bottom with itr valvetrains and camshafts for the gsr vtec head.

hope u guys could answer my questions..thanks again for reading and replyin.

Hey I'm not some LS/Vtec pro but I've learned a lot by just reading here about LS/Vtec buils and what parts to use.

If you are running a b18b block and GSR head with P30 pistons your compression will be 11.8:1

If you decide to go with the P73 ITR Pistons your compression will be about 11:1

Your best bet is to go with the P73 pistons if you want to keep it low 11 compression

If you buy a new distributor OBD1 it probobly won't come with the vtec solenoid.
Buying a block guard? haven't heard of a lot of people using them on NA LS/Vtec setups...I dont think you would need it is you want to his 190-200whp.

270CC injectors will do just fine for the goal you are reaching.

The stock bottom end is normal and the ITR valvetrain and cam's on the GSR head is good also.
Remember to use the GSR head studs.

Hope this helps

make sure you use ARP rod bolts

gsr head studs

NO need for a blockguard, just a waste of money

vtec oil pump and water pump

Then she needs Vtec Timing belt too

Or if you go with the LS waterpump you will need LS timing belt

will b16a us piston rings work with those jdm ctr pistons?
same with gsr piston ringw will it fit itr pison rings?
these are regular standard size pistons..

as for water pump and timing belt. does the year of water / timing have to match the block like 94 ls block with 94 gsr water pump ? or it doesnt matter?

what the different in autozone parts and honda oem from the dealer?
like water pump or t belt?

i think it work the same..what do u guys think?

as for header.. will LS 4-1 work with a GSR vtec head? or do i have to go buy another? would it fit fine?

would b16 distributor obd 1 work with my GSR vtec head... im think it might . plus its cheaper than gsr distributor...

well i hope u guys could answer all my questions. i would like to put this motor together so thats why im asking alot .
thanks again for reading and time..

not sure about the piston question

but as for water pump and timing belt, just get a new one. just say i need a vtec water pump they'll probably get you a b18c1/gsr one and then you'll also need a gsr timing belt

you have to use a waterpump and that has to correspond w/ the timing belt ie. gsr pump w/ gsr belt / ls pump w/ ls timing belt

i would just go oem, but maybe autozone gets it from honda?

any b-series header should work w/ other b-series header except b16 cuz i believe their deck height is shorter than the regular ls/gsr/type r/b20's blocks

any vtec distributor would work. but i would use one that is the same year of your vehicle like 92-95 civic are obd1 and 96 n up civic is obd2

unless your gonna convert the whole vehicle, then i'd stick w/ obd1

keep asking questions, your on the right track, rather build this thing one time rather than a whole bunch of times.

also do some research on those ctr pistons. I think their a bad choice (just my opinion)

no im not going with ctr pistons. im using usdm itr piston for my setup.

i was asking if i could used gsr piston ring on itr piston or usdm b16 rings on ctr pistons???

are there any differnce in size ring or etc...
i think it will work the same if its standard size or over bore size right.. u just gotta match it right?

alright thats all thanks again for replies and good info .
