I don't think the spec Bs peak that high. Maybe 8-8500.

cams will make power at different peaks with different flow rates and so forth, it all makes a difference, a 2 liter will peak before your motor will just from the extra displacement. Atleast i think this is right, someone correct me if i am wrong.

correct, its not just about engine size.. its piston speed as well. a 89mm crank with stock ls rods should peak sooner than a 87mmm gs-r crank and gs-r rods GIVEN they are the same displacement.

it also has alot to do with the type of bolt ons your using .... when my boy had spec b's and just a stock itr mani and itr tb he peaked at around 8600 or so..... when he bored out to 70mm and went with the aebs intake mani and 3" intake he was peaking at over 9000 rmps ....

im planning on building a very similar motor.. ls vtec, but i am going to be concentrating on moving my power in sooner in the rmps by just using a stock itr intake mani and tb... i think ill also use the mighty mid range skunk2 pro 1's as well....... but spec b's are sicg, expecialy in the midrange.. primarys are pretty big

lol i just accidentally revved my motor to 9k today too. All i got is shot peened rods, not even arp rod bolts. Luckily i got upgraded valvetrain, and my rod bolts didn't stretch or snap. I'm not saying it should hold up, just saying that i made it . Also get your rods notched so you can use gsr bearings.
