driving around one nite when my 2000 GSR motor started to shake and suddenly check engine light came on. i checked the trouble code and it reads code 74 which is cylinder 4 and misfire. I changed the spark plugs and wires and also inspected the cap n rotor but its stilled the same. Hopefully its not my piston rings......any help will help......thankyou

 

my brother is having the same issue on his 99 LS auto.

he says the car shakes when at stop. but when hes driving it stops shaking.

Also from a stop he said there feels like some slight hesitation.

What should he to fix this. He doesn't drive hard at all on the motor.

 

Perform a compression check and then adjust your valves. If the rockers are really loose on cylinder 4, you may have bent valves. Did you overrev the engine recently?

A clogged fuel injector could also cause these symptoms.
