Nitrous or water injection
Which would be better to cool down intake charges and give a boost in hp? Can you run a small shot with Direct port nitrous? Or would a spearco water-injection 50%water/50% methenal be better?
You cannot run nitrous all the time, therefore it isnt a good method for cooling down the intake air temp. Water injection is far superior and safer for cooling down your intake air temps. I use and run the spearco kit and love it. I have no knock at all at 10psi on my stock block LS. I also am using an intercooler...so water injection is a little overkill, but you can never be too safe.
I put the nozzle that sprays the water after the BOV and before the throttle body. I control the water injection right now by the pressurized regulator that comes in the spearco kit. As soon as I get the tuning software for my PMS system i will let the unit control the spraying of the water through a solenoid at my specified rpm points, but that will all have to wait till i get back to the dyno.
Oh i also use the 50/50 mixture of methahol and water. I refill the water resovior every tank of gas. I carry around a water 16oz water bottle to fill it...it is pre-mixed with the mixture so i dont have to worry about it when i am out.
