88 crx si, won't rev over 3000????
hey my friend just put a timing belt on his crx and now it won't rev over 3000. it goes into every gear fine it just won't rev over 3000 for some reason....does anybody have any ideas??? thanks

You are probably running in limp mode which means you are throwing some codes. Check your ecu to find out what the problem is and then report back to us.

nah it was running fine before the timing belt broke, and then he changed it and it was fine for a couple of days and then all of a sudden it stopped revving over 3k

it could be many things if the cel is on check it and get the codes from ecu, when u cant rev past 3k the system defaults that to be the fuel cut off for security reasons. check the codes

hey i'm the owner of the car we're talking about here...we checked the ECU and it was blinking once so we changed the o2 sensor and it stopped blinking. we went up to get gas and it still wont rev over 3k, but when we came back we checked the ECu again and its blinking for o2 sensor again...thanx

hey man.. same thing happened to me.. first it threw a check 02 sensor, then i replaced the o2 (not the problem). Then i found out it started throwing a code 4? i think. TDC is off or dizzy is shot. I changed my dizzy with my other CRX and it ran like a champ. Think of lookin at your dizzy or rebuilding it. It shouldn't go any further than that.

yeah, like you and dad try'd to do with a perfectly good dizzy and f'd it up. then after they f'd up the one I gave them, (spare) they gave up and jacked it out of my perfectly fine running rex. punk ***, I want my dizzy back!!!
