The rubber condom around the Oil pressure sensor is NOT coming off and its really hard to work under there , so my question is would i be able to just cut off the condom to get to the bolt since its just a sensor with wiring coming out?

Is there any other location that I can T off to send oil to the turbo other then the oil pressure sensor location?

i have had to split many of those boots. it is ok.

also is there any other location to tap oil from? such as the vtec oil sending unit?

 

anh man, catch it at the sender. if you want, get a sandwich plate and tap it off of there. your oil will be filtered if you do it that way.

what is a sandwich plate and where do we hook this up?

 

just noticed you have a gsr, i dont know if there is any room for it unloess you loose your oil cooler. anyway it goes between the filter and the block with fittings for sensors and turbo feeds.

 

this is what i picked up from Golden Eagle (camp1320).

the smaller inlet is for my oil pressure gauge and the other is my feed line.

 

Cut the boot off. unplugg the stock sender. remove stock sender, install new sender. done.

you dont need the stock sensor to even be plugged in. the oil pressure light wont ever come on. its worthless anyways.

 

yeah that boot thing was a bitch to get off for me. i removed the alternator for more room around that area. i think i ended up hacking the boot anyways when i finally got it off.

I have one on a GSR w/ oil cooler and it clears everything just fine ...

Actually, the Oil light SAVED me once!
I happen to hit a road construction debris, wam! little did i notice, Nothing happen, ok. As usual going to a friends party. Stay for an hour, then time to head home.

Here I go starting the car, and I notice the oil light is ON! Wow it works!? I looked under my car, and wow! OIL EVERY WHERE, My pan was punctured.! A tiny pin hole!

But Overall, Yes the OIL LIGHT DOES WORK! Imagine if I drove my car with the hole in my oil pan? Yikes.... Goes my Motor! but phew... Light saved me.

 

Yeah I have had the oil pressure light save me before... light was flickering at idle and I didn't realize I was that low on oil...

 

haha... ya i was able to finally get it off it was tough. I used a box cutter to cut off the boot then pulled the wires out and then used a socket wrench to get the sensor out. I put the sensor back onto the tunertoys block fitting but i have no clue if I messed it up, since I pulled the wires out, but it looks ok

 

yea but thats when there is like nooo pressure (i mean it doesnt come on until the oil pressure is dangerously low)

An oil pressure GAUGE will tell you the oil pressure all the time. Keep and eye on your oil pressure gauge and it will be a much more reliable source.

 

Still not a good reason to disconnect the OEM pressure switch

i have to agree, i am not staring at my gage all the time, but if that light is on you will see it while cruising. and if the light is on, it doesnt necessarily mean terminal damage has been done. you may just be a little low on oil. i would have to leave it there gage or no gage. personally, i dont have a gage. i rely on the light. i have boost and a wide band.

 

I dont think its a big deal. With all the trouble people have trying to split the oil line to accommodate two oil pressure sensors its not worth it. Not to mention redundant.

 

Well I'm using the sandwich adapter to run my turbo and greddy oil sender.... so I didn't even have to touch the factory pressure switch.
