whats the difference between tuning Turbo compared to N/A?

Default whats the difference between tuning Turbo compared to N/A?

im new to the tuning thing...i just wanted to hear some info and opinions...whats the differences between tuning the two?...i mean if your good at tuning one does that mean your good with both?...like i look into the two different forums and see like different popular tuners in each...in the NA i see like churchs, bubba, Tbone...and on here i see tony1, mase, etc...just wondering....do i need to put on my flame suit ....thanks

The actual tuning itself doesn't differ. Dyno, wideband, (maybe even EGT).

But the target A/F ratios are a little different (depending on tuner). N/A applications can get away with a leaner A/F and slightly more ignition advance. But in boosted applications, you'd want to keep it a little richer and be conservative on the ignition timing. Your tuning "window" is that much smaller, since a slight lean condition can detonate easier due to the additional boosted cylinder pressures.

yeah i agree with the above, you have to be a little more careful when tuning a turbo car because every single day seems to be different, where as in my all motor cars i just turned the key and drove away.

but i think its because there are so many different variables and compnenets to a turbo set up vice an all motor car, i mean we have the same stuff, except we have a few more that just add complications to the matter!
