Default Type-R pistons on stock GSR rods??

i got my motor rebuilt but now im kina regretting i went a lil cheap, rebuilt a gsr motor type-r pistons,type-r cams, sknk 2 gears, sknk 2 IM,springs retainers n 3 angle valve job. The whole deal with tha rebuild is i was aiming for at least 9k rpm but now im having second thoughts bout hittin that high because of tha stock rods.
So some input on what may happen and if anyone would know tha compression?

your rods will be fine till 9k..
but for a lil cash you can pick up some itr rods which are lighter/stronger.

Why?

Why not just aim for a power goal and rev to wherever it makes power as apposed to where it sounds cool

Chances are, with ITR cams and a fairly stock head it wont really be making much power after 8300'ish anyway...

If you make power at 9k, then you should take it up there , but seeing that you have honda parts i really doubt your powerband will go that high!

Hope you upgraded your rod bolts at least....

yeah i know tha itr cams wont make power at that rpm im planning to swap it out after break in with stage 1 sknk 2 cams hah shoulda put that in tha begining, but now still not shure if i wanna do that with tha chance of bending a rod and another question is there a difference between the Type-R rods and GSR rods?

I agree with everyone on this when they say rev to where you make power....no use going that high if your not making any power up to 9k...

the bolts should have been replaced with ARP rod bolts atleast. You can still do this if the enigne is not in the car yet......you can still do it even if it is but its a little harder to do from under the car.
