D2 info request. Comparisons? Pro/Con?
I'm looking into getting a new set of full coilovers, and I want some comparisons.
I'm running skunk2/koni yellow now, with 12/14 custom springrates. The car has become my daily driver, and it's just too harsh. I'm also having bumpstop issues with the koni's. Reason I want a full coil system, is because of the spring preload. And the fact that I can raise/lower the car without much affecting the ride characteristics.
So, I tried the omnipower street coils.
Install and finish is really nice. But I find them too soft and bouncy for my taste.
Too bad I can't test the sport version.
Also looks like omni uses the same crappy paint on the springs that comes off in a while and leaves the spring rusty.
What I hate, is that they're not damper adjustable.
I have also tested the Tein superstreet setup. I think it's highly overrated, and the price/quality is all out of whack. Yes they're nice. But I HATE progressive springs.
The superstreet setup uses the same flawed perch design that my current skunk2's have. You know, where you're adjusting both the locking perch as the support perch with the same wrench.
For the same price as the Omni sports, I can get the D2's.
They appear to have it all. Adjustable collars. Preload adjustability, 36something way adjustable damper, the works.
Uunfortunately, I've never seen them, had them in my hands, driven them.
What are the advantages/disadvantages/flaws of the set?
Apart from the ghastly color ofcourse.
