Possible Head Gasket Problem?
My problem is my engine idled just fine the only problems were that the oil and coolant were mixing. So i took off the head and the head gasket looks ok (maybe i overlooked something). There is also some black ash like build up on the top of the pistons. I have no idea what to do. Im thinking ill just change the head gasket and see if that fixes the problem.

oil + coolant mixing=HG problem. unless you were drunk and poured oil into your radiator or coolant into your crankcase. the black ash stuff you see is carbon build up. this happens to all cars. dont worry about it. you can use seafoam to get rid of it or most of it. make sure ur head/block is not warped.
If your not sure about the HG have someone else look at it (even though when coolant and oil mix it is almost always the HG). Like someone else said take a straight edge to the block and head before putting back on.
