Default Very odd thing about my 90 Dx

So I was meeting up with my friends at a parkling lot and had to bust a u Turn now I was stopped and had it in first so I had the tires spinning doing the u-turn from all of first till 3rd. The car seems like it has a lot more power then it should which is odd. Even my friend who has owned multiple Civic's from an Ef to EG says it drives like it has more power then it is supposed to. Now I know it's a stock DX motor in there.
Is it just a fluke my Civic is running so well? I find it odd because I am burning oil like no tomorrow. But when you drive it it's like driving it right off the lot from the dealers from day 1.

Any explaination for this? Or is it just a fluke.

Uh well if you were pulling a tight U-turn and giving it a lot of gas its not that strange that one of your tires was spinning since almost all of the power is going to that tire.

My friend seen both tires spinning. The tires spin so easy on the car. They aren't bald tires either they are 95% Tread. It's really messed up. Poor lil civic likes when I push it.

Powerful DX no, I top out at 210km/h
It's decent tho, I raced on a "closed course" with my friend and his dx. He has a 91 DX with body kit. I have a 90 DX with rear interior fully removed but I raped him. He has intake and exhaust. Only difference is his car handles better then mine.
With Dx racing raping is beating him by 1 1/2 cars lol

When I first got a Civic when I was 17 I thought it was pretty quick because I could spin real easy just mashing the gas as hard as possible in 1st, and really burn em up on the 1-2. "Wow, this is awesome!", I thought. A few weeks later I replaced my busted tires with some Kumho 712s and realized that I just had really sucky tires.

Your car is slow. You have bad tires. End of story.

You can spin the tires in ANY car doing a U-Turn because when the wheels are at full lock (or anywhere close) the tires aren't in full parallel contact with the road. I don't know what the alignment angle of this scenario is called, but as a result, you're not making the same contact as you would if the steering wheel was straight.

My '83 Has 67 hp and much less TQ, and I can spin the tires through 4th gear while doing a U-Turn.

That should tell you something right there.

Funny part is they spin on a straight no problem. The tires are almost brand new. In corners and at higher speeds they grip amazing. It's just odd. BTW this isn't my first car. It's just facked up.

High mileage?, possible carbon build up on the top of the pistons could bump up you'r compression ratio a bit more then a stock Dx, even you'r buds Dx.

Instead of determining if a car is fast by its abbility to loose tractiong while doing a U-turn, why dont we all just agree that he needs to take it to the track? Go run in the 1/4, bring us back times, and then we will all be able to decide whether your car is a fluke of nature, or if you just have shitty tires and a good clutch. I know somebody who has a stock BMW 318 from the 80s that did a MONSTER burn out, like clouds of smoke; his car ran a high 16 or 17 in the quarter, but he can do wicked burnouts b/c he has an aftermarket clutch and bad tires.

i remember doing small burnouts in these things way back when

front wheel drive will always lack traction.... but those were the days indeed....

I had a plastic one so traction was real bad. When did kids start wearing helmets on bigwheels?

usually cars fun really well right before they **** out...the fact that your car is burning lots of oil could be a sign of this
