'91 Civic Shift Points...
Whats up, Im trying to figure out some good shift points for a basicaly stock '91 Hatch. Its the slow std. 1.5l with the 4-speed
But since it dosnt have a tach, could you guys tell me what MPH it is best to shift at for max. performance (if you can call it that) thanks.

back when i had my 70 HP cx engine combined with the std 4spd tranny, my shift points were 30-55-75-nevergotthathigh. There is nothing to be had with 70 HP. The best thing to ever happen to me was right after i got my civic running with the 130 HP engine and actually getting to feel something called high end torque. It was new to me.

did you remove your limiter? the absence of a tach just means that you don't know what RPM you are at. The car still knows.
edit- you prolly already know that don't ya
my bad...

Open up the manual and it tells you the max shift points. which i think are 30, 55, 96, .... I just installed an si cluster on my std and 30 mph in 1st is about 6k, after second gear though the car is pretty much useless... I cant wait to get mpfi and install my cam, and dump that worthless 4spd tranny
I have a 90 si, my shift point is around 7200-7300 rpm's. In 3rd gear, i'm about 95mph before i red line. To be sure i'll take a few passes in 1st and 2nd to be sure and will pass them on.
mine are around 7300-7400
2nd-65
3rd-110
4th-159
5th-never gone fast enough
all in Km/H of course.
EDIT:::I need to learn how to read, he wanted std shift points

Sorry to bring this post back up. But I was wondering if there even was a rev limiter??
Is there a rev limiter on a std hatchback, I want to take it up high one day to see where its set at, but I dont want to blow it up if there isnt.
