sohc zc
so i just bought a 91 civic hatch to be may daily driver as i get one step closer in making my 92 gsr right hand drive. before my teg i owned 2 other EFs one i swapped a b16a in and loved it to death. i dont really want to send alot of money and my boy has a zc sohc 1.6L engine that i could pick up for really cheap. he told me that it make 130hp which is just like the dohc zc. i have driven in alot of dohc zc swaps. could i expect the sohc zc to put up around the same numbers as the dohc? if you have the sohc zc in your car, tell me how you like it.
yeah... I ran 15.1 in a 90 SI completly stock except for a SOHC non-VTEC ZC. Its basicly the same as the d16a6 88-91 SI motors w/ a little more compression and less milage. The VTEC one is about the same as the d16z6 92-95 SI/EX SOHC VTEC motors w/ less milage. Either way they are all good cheap swaps for an EF.

had a 88 hf with sohc zc ran 15.02 with slipping clutch and my fat *** in the driver seat then i was tipping 300lb the sohc zc is 120 hp but it is 25lb lighter than the dohc and has a much aggressive cam than the A6 and believe it or not the automatic ones have much more torq than the std ones and what the hell was i thinking when i traded it for a tahitian green dx ef
For the straight **** on all the ZC specs, read this:

I have 1989dx w/ mpfi swap with the sohc zc motor. Its fun to drive. turbo on the way. My buddies gotta 96 hatch used to have b16 which is having problems so not its a Zc with a junkyard turbo kit. But that is pretty fast for sohc. Very impressive.
