ZC question
having a little debate about zc motors.. now from what i understand that the zc came in dohc 88-91 jdm crx and a sohc non -vtec version
now some say there is a 1.6 zc thats sohc vtec but i have never seen nor heard of this motor..
can anyone show me actual pics of a zc stamped sohc vtec motor.. not a zc block with vtec head crap either lol

Go Tigers!
zc in foreign countries means "d-series"
there's basically two types of d-series from 88-00
dohc and sohc.
you can't put dohc heads on sohc blocks.
and the sohc zcs are like our sohc d16s

yes and no.. becuase i currently have the jdm d16a which is the soch zc.. yet mine is non-vtec... i can put a vetc head on it, yet it comes non vtec.. if u need pics, look up jdmenginedepot.com thats where i got mine.. and they are basickly the same motor between the usdm d16 and the jdm zc, yet their is a very slight power difference in the power band, and in higher revs..

Re: (Timmay)
Call hmotorsonline and ask if they have any ZC VTEC's. They are not exactly rare engines, and no they do not pump 140hp. It's exactly the same as a D16Z6. I should know I have one.

You can, but it's a strange concoction that doesn't seem to have long lasting results. There was a user a few years ag, baseballinmyass or something like that & he did it. There was a HUGE thread on it.
Sorry for the OT fellas. Carry on.
