custom light wiring
ok guys i have halo projectors on my rex (i think there too rice, im saving for a jdm front end
) and i wired the halos to my corner markers so that there on when lights are on, and they also blink when i signal. that made me think. the bumper signals are always off, and i was thinking it would look good if they were on with the headlights, kinda like fogs, only white bulbs. i like being legal, so is there a way to add a clear bulb in the signals and retain the amber signal, or would it not reflect the light correctly. also how (if its possible) would i wire it up cuz when the blinker is on the white light would need to turn off. any one ever thought of this? i was also thinking of painting my rear signals red, and somehow wiring them so there running lights and signals like the corners. any suggestions welcomed, i thought these were good ideas

hmm your right... the posts/writeups seem to be gone.... well lucky for you i saved my write up in a little text file -
This will make your bumper lights stay onw ith your parking/corner lights, buit also function as signal lights with no super fast blinking
Go get some brake light sockets that hold dual filament 1157 bulbs (3 wires coming out and 2 connetions inside socket). Junkyard or kragen/autozone. Mine were supposed to be for a 78 GM brakelights. honda sockets work just the same. just make sure it came with a good amount of wire (i got about a foot).
Then buy your 1157 dual filament bulbs. Dual filament bulbs are bulbs that can be both dim or bright. ex: Tailight/Brakelight
Next, turn your cars headlights on and signal (youll need to turn the key to the second click). Your corner light consists of two lights. One should blink while the other stays on. !!remember!! which one stays on (id tell you but... i forgot)
Take out your bumper light housing, remove the socket, and look at the hole to stick your socket in.
-Theres space for 4 tabs, but your NEW socket has 3 in a different pattern.
-What i did is kept the longest tab of the 3, then cut the other two to very small tabs in order to fit
-youll need to have a good eye and a sharp blade to make it fit.
Now for the wiring. Your new socket should have 3 wires coming out - the black (ground), and 2 others. One is for the "bright light" (your signal), one for "dim"(your new parking lights).
1. Cut your current bumper light socket off about 4-6 inches up. Theres a green and black wire exposed now.
-attach the black wire from your NEW socket to the black wire youve just exposed.
-next, attach the "bright light" wire (yellow in my case) to the green wire youve just exposed. tape up, solder, whatever.
-now, take out the corner light and find the red wire leading to the bulb that did not blink earlier. splice your final "dim light" wire (red in my case) to the wire leading to the bulb that stays on. Make sure this connection is solid.
-Go back to 1 and Repeat with the other side.
Ooh fancy fancy.

hmmmm sounds like a good idea....but if im not mistaken this will cause the blinker to be white (illegal) or parking light yellow..... what i mean is i wanted clear parking lights kinda like fogs but keep the legal yellow blinker. dual filament bulbs can only be one color correct? if this is true the only way to do this is to some how rig up two bulbs in there... and some one said the housing will melt!
but hey thanks for digging up that post
