How high can you rev a b-series motor before the block flys apart? (assuming head can take it)

i know you all motor ppl spin motors higher than a kite so you'll know best.
my buddy took his gsr block to 11.5k with eagle rods and forged pistons and stock bearings and it didnt fret. So what do you ppl determine the block redline of the B18b,B18c1,B16a2 all with honda bearings and eagle rods and forged pistons.
im goin to try to end the quater in third

Dumbest thing ive heard in a while.
What was done to his mythical 11,500 rpm head so that he didnt drop a valve?

Dude wtf are u talkin about? Just cuz u rev tha **** outa ur engine dosnt mean its fast. If u dont make power at those high rpm's then there is no pint in reving that high cuz theres no power.

K fine. I can rev my b series to 19000rpm with a 40mm stroke and a 80mm rod.
Could your question be any more vague?

what does the block have to do with anything?? if the bearings are getting oil, it will keep spinning. assuming its balanced properly. like it was said already, the main thing you would have to worry about is your valve springs. thats why engines get fucked up due to over rev. is because the piston smacks a vlave, since the springs cant return the valves fast enough.

thank you....retards on this forum dont understand how to answer a question...this is 4 a FI setup that probly wont spool till 6500rpm and pull thru 12000 rpm and if i can use 3rd gear through the traps im in the high 11s or deep 12s

Stupid questions deserve stupid answers. What did you expect?

12,000 RPMs? This better be a joke. NOBODY that has to ask how high a block can be rev'ed can also build a 12,000 rpm engine. My guess, his setup throws a rod before is gets out of the driveway @ 2,249 rpms.
There your answer is 2,249 RPMs. Thats how high.
BTW, you stated you would be using Eagle rods, that is also a BS dead give away. There are countless H-T posts of people throwing Eagles at 9,000 at less RPMs. That being said, not a builder in their right mind would use them in a 10,000+ RPM application. Crower, Pauter etc.. thats your ticket.
