Sometimes when accelerating my tach bounces like crazy mainly between 3-4k rpms when I hit the gas it will fly up the redline and then back down rapidly. My fields vtec controller reads rmps and it remains steady and has no problem. How can I track down the short? Any suggestions?

 

check your ignitor and your grounds

 

I just installed a 98 Integra Ls gauge cluster into my 98 Civic Ex and when I'm stopped/idle...with the turn signal on...the tach needle bounces to the rythum of the signal. What could cause this?

 

check your distributor and wires on the plugs also check your grounds a bad ground can be bad news

same thing happened to me....I just removed the cap and made sure all connections were tight and it was fixed
