Default What kind of speakers should I upgrade to?

Currently I have a Pioneer DEH-2700 head unit that I just picked up to replace my oem deck that wasn't reading cds anymore. Up front I have these Pioneer 6 1/2" 2-ways that I bought last summer from best buy for 50 bucks. In the back I have two old school Pioneer 6x9's. All of this is in a 99 civic hb.

I just want some better sounding speakers to compliment my new head unit. I was thinking about getting a nice component set up front and moving my current Pioneer 6 1/2's to the rear and discarding the 6x9's. Will upgrading my speaker wires help in my case or will the stock wires be fine? I'm not much of a car stereo enthusiast so I don't think I will be needing an amp and sub.

Any suggestions on what I should get? I really don't want to spend much.

go into some audio store and ask to listen to some of the speaker(front and rear seperately, then together once u found your combination together) without an amp pushing them. then go to ebay and bid on them.

Best thing to go with would be a nice set of components. Best Buy carries Alpine now...go with the 6 1/2" components. Or you could go with what I went in my 99 civic. I got the Kenwood component set. Which ever one you go with make sure you dynamat your doors. This will help with the sound quality and give you better midrange.

Don't really want to send much. I just want the front output to come from above as well as it coming from the door speakers. I checkout out a honda parts site and they had oem door panel tweeters for $42 and they would be plug and play with my stock wires.

inexpensive and reliable sound solution for you:

Infinity 6000cs Components up front (last year's model, ebay=$90+-)

Any brand really, 6x9's (if you want the rear fill) = $100+-

inexpensive but very nice sounding clarion 400watt 4channel amplifier...ebay'ed = $100+-

so for under $300, you can have an entry level setup that sounds great in a small-car setup.....basically that's what i'm running, and i love it
