Default axles

i tried to take my axles out today and when i was trying to get the nut off of my lower control arm (the one with the pin in it) but the nut and bolt keep spining at the same time therefor not letting me get the nut off.... does anybody out there have any solutions to this

hey are you talking about the lower ball joint castle nut???

if so then try jacking the hub up slightly to put pressure on it... if not opps

yeah, that works good. also, you could try tapping the balljoint down with a hammer.

i've always got stuck ones off using a combination of those two methods.

if it's really stuck, though, you could probably use a nut splitter.

When I replaced my axles, the same thing happened to me, I just put a lot of weight on the top and had a friend screw the nut on. Got it on with no problem. Try that.

just have someone step on top/ or put their whole weight in the top of the whole hub/rotor assembly... cheapest trick in my book... no special tools needed.... the same goes when putting it back together after the jack trick doesn't work...

I grabbed the bolt with some needlenose and tried spinning the nut off. Doesn't really work too well however. Otherwise try some PB or wd40.

Did you take the pin out? Haha! I did this same thing and forgot. I had to replace my upper control arm because of that damn pin. It stripped the bolt that the castle nut threaded onto.
