I´ve heard that a ball bearing turbo spool a bit sooner than a conventional. We are talking about 300rpm smaler turbo lag.

The NASA inspired angular contact, CERAMIC BALL-BEARING design (Patent pending) practically eliminates thrust bearing and operational surge failures. The CERAMIC BALL-BEARING system can safely handle 50 TIMES more thrust loading than conventional turbochargers , making it ideal for severe transients and extreme pressure ratio applications (quote from turbonetics website)

mine was one of the original XS engineering bb turbo's cost was 1500. i suspect yours cost a lot more because the HKS is true dual ball bearing. I'm against bb mainly because the money saved by going with a regular turbo can be better spent in so many ways. but if you have to have the best of everything and can afford the best of everything, then

yeah i understand what your saying, sometime i wish the price was alittle cheaper, so i could have spent some of that money on some other things, the benifits are minor, its just a more tuned model with higher tolerances and....high i mean minimal...but i wanted to get a good turbo so i hope i did

i've been running a bb turbonetics turbo for about 4 months now and have no regrets to the extra 500 it cost me. Full boost at 3k is nice when the track is closed and daily driving is all you do..

When do you start to see pressure, around 2k?

Okay so he's saying he's at full boost at 3k, I"m assuming you have a drag kit on your car? At what rpm do you guys running the same turbo but non ball bearing reach full boost, I think around 4K? So the ball bearing turbo spools up around 1K faster, however this will only make a difference in first gear right, once the turbo is spooling it won't really slow down in between shifts. Correct me if I"m wrong here.

positive pressure around 1.7k. And you feel it in every gear when your not racing. i.e. cruising in 3rd at 3k, no need to downshift just floor it and rip
