custom h22a log mani...what you guys think
This mani was designed to get a big t3/t4 into a del sol with the h22. Overall im very pleased, I still need to get the wastegate ninty positioned and the t3 flange welded. All of the bends wered tiged, the header flange was miged but im prob gunna go over it with the tig. Props for hotrex for helping me get this done. What u guys think?
honestly some of the welds on the flange look pretty cold...its pretty beefy, what is it 1/2"....i would have recommended some practice welds doing that thick to thin there to get your settings all correct, i bet you were playin around with them while welding it
actually i welded it. the flange welds were with my mig with stainless wire. the other welds are tigged and i am finishing the mani with my tig. i am going over the mig welds with the tig.
at the time i didnt have a head to bolt the flange to, so i opted to use the mig and not warp the **** out of it. all went well, i will clean them up with the tig and it will be good to go. yes those fange welds were cold. i did that on purpose.
the head flange is 3/8

its gonna look kinda ugly whyen you go over it with a tig. but it might be just cuz i did that b4 with the migged mild steel wire. maybe the stainless wire will be different.
why did you used a non tapped flange ? how are you going to bolt it down ?

josh, you should have gotten the flanges from me...
the t3 would have been threaded.

I just made a similar design last night to replace my SSAC manifold:

I love how beefy the sch40 steel is, even if my 110v welder doesn't get full penetration through it. No more flex, no more exhaust leaks!
