oil pump question?

Default oil pump question?

should i replace the seals of the oil pump of a b-series engine?

personally, I wouldn't use a used oil pump. If you're going to use one, change the seal, it's so cheap... this IS the oil PUMP after all.

You can reuse o-rings if they aren't real hard, cracking, torn, broken, pinched, or flattened/permanently deformed too much.

When in doubt, replace it anyways.

There's only one o-ring on the oil pump. It's used to seal the pressurized side that feeds the main oil gallery that goes to the oil filter.

You can take your pump to the parts store and pick up an exact fit o-ring for .43 cents.

I saw hondas price of 2 bucks i was like what the hell. Ive used an exact fit o-ring picked up from the parts store several times with no problem at all. Everytime I have torqued down the oil pump It always distorted my O-ring.

So If I Were you, Is .43 cents worth knowing your pump wont leak pressure? If so make a run to the parts store.
