Default Coilover Install questions

Hey guys, im in the process of installing my groundcontrol/KYB AGX suspension setup and ran into a few questions.

1-How do you tighten the self locking nut on the top once it's installed, since the AGX's do not have an allen wrench nut up there!?

2-Does it matter if I don't want to cut my bumpstops, since mine look fine? Also, I read that I should remove the dust shield, just confirm that?

3-Does it really matter if I use O rings or not on the strut? I have a lot of different sized ones, does it matter which size I use?

To answer your questions:

1. I used a vise grip. This is how I do it: Use cloth or rag wrap around the rod couple times. then use a vise grip to hold it over the cloth. Be careful not to scratch it. After you get the nut down half way, you could use a vise grip to hold the top now. Notice the area where there is no thread on both sides? Use a vise grip there.
2. You have to cut the bumpstops because if you lower a lot, you will hit the bumpstop a lot.

U may damage the rod by using the vice grip method, but an impact will get it on there easy, without havign to hold the rod at all. And u have to cut the bumpstops, or else the suspension wont get any travel... that will end up blowing your shock prematurely and u will have the harshest ride ever

OK can someone tell me what's I'm doing wrong here? THe rear strut juts out of the back trunk area so much, and I can't tighten it anymore. What did I do wrong??

I think you forgot to put the big washer before you put the black top on.

I feel you. I just recently drop my car and put agx shocks on my 5g. It took me almost an hour just to line up and put in the long bolt that held the rear shock. It was nothing major hard, but it was just small BS that slow me down.
