question?? i took off my dis cap and the rotor screw is tight but the rotor slightly moves, is that

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THE ROTOR SHOULD MOVE.. SLIGHTLY EVEN WITH THE LIL SCREW TIGHT... BC TOOK THE OLD ONE OFF AND PUT A NEW ONE ON AND WHEN I PUT THE NEW CAP ON AND PUT EVERYTHING BACK TOGEATHER STARTED THE CAR AND THE ROTOR WAS MAKIN NOISE.. I WOULD THINK IT WAS THE ROTOR NEWAYS.. LIKE A LIL CLINK SOUND.. GOOD OR BAD?? PLEASE HELP ME

To answer you question-it is not normal for the rotor to move once the setscrew is tighened. If you are not using genuine Honda Cap and Rotor-this may be the reason. I seriously doubt that the tang on the distributor base that fits on the cam is bad-but one never knows for sure. You can check this by removing the rotor and trying to gently turn the shaft with your fingers. If it does not budge then that possiblity is gone and you can assume something about the rotor is not ok.

use impact screw driver to snug it in place , then when you got everything back on , you step on the brakes so that the caliper can adjust and tighten any unwanted looseness in your rotors.

He is talking about the distributor rotor....
To answer the question it is not normal for there to be slop once the set screw is tightened.
