Default No Oil Pressure Please Help

I was driving my car down the freeway today and all of a sudden my oil light popped on. I checked my autometer oil pressure gauge and it registered no pressure at all. I quickly shut the car down within 5 seconds and pulled it to the side of the road. The motor has 99k on it and it is an h22a1. What do i do? Swap in a jdm longblock? Get it fixed? What tests should I run before deciding? All input is greatly appreciated thanks in advance

- check for obvious leaks, especially on the back of the block where you put your pressure sensor.

- check oil level. if low, return of normal level.

99% chance that one of these two items needed attention. once fixed, start car. if it runs fine, you're lucky. if not, get new engine.

If the car ran for 5 sec. without oil pressure, I think you should be fine.

Sounds like a bad oil pump to me. I am not sure of the cost to replace.

Nice job on stopping early before the real damage came to play.

yeah, this happened to me before, but the cause of it was different. i had a hose from breather hole hooked up to the piping between my compressor and filter. every time i hit boost it would pull out out and into my compressor. that is why i guess i always smelled oil burning. after 1500 miles i was wondering why the hell my oil light came on. i barely drove because i was half a block away from kragens. pulled in the parking lot and threw in 2 bottles of oil and it was back to where it should be. did an oil change later and i cut the hose in half and ziptied the part of the hose that was connected to my compressor/filter piping.
