If you have the money do a HID retrofit. It'll cost 300-700 bucks, but I think it's worth it.

I used to have HID's in the jdm headlights w/black housing i have on the accord, and let me tell you, it looks excellent if you get the right color temperature, and also for the increase in brightness over stock.

You could do a projector retrofit (real OEM HID projectors) in your housing (or have it done at a shop) with some good 4300-5300k HIDs and have some great light output and good looks.

That or just stick with the stock lenses.

Stocks work fine for me but i'd do a complete retrofit if I wanted to do it right from the beginning. Some housings are actually fine for HIDs but most of them are meant for halogen and you get all types of glare

If you just want to remove the orange and paint the inside black stick them in the oven about 10 minutes at 250 degrees. Then pry them apart with two very skinny screwdrivers just enough to slide a playing card in. Then when you have playing cards all the way around it will seperate. DON'T force it, it will crack.

It is a seperate piece. Once you take the headlight apart it will fall right out.
