the other day from a dead stop had, head lights, fog lights, head unit, amps and subs going adn my car began to idle really sparatically and rough, so when the light turned green i gave it gas like normal and it bogged and the exhaust was making a weird low tone growling noise and then i let off on it and punched it again and there it went w/o problems>? it felt like the car was gunna die for about 2 seconds and the throttle was prolly at 50%, help me if u got the know how, thanks

u said the symptom already, or ur idle is too low than normal...

 

well i also need to adjust idle, i went around vaccum lines with a propane torch ( only gas) and couldnt locate a vaccum leak, but if i dont have a load on the motor: lights, stereo, something like that it lopes idle up and down up and down, sooo i think i need to drop it a bit cause iac is trying to adjust for it being high than it gets too low than over and over again... just a guess

 

If the idle is looping up and down it could be your TPS (throttle position sensor). The looping idle is it's tell tale sign of going bad. Have you changed the antifreeze or drained it recently? I know if there isn't enough anti-freeze in there, it will cause your idle to do that. I didn't know that until recently when I put a new waterpump and tb in. Good luck on fixing it!!

 

what are the voltage out puts on teh tps if its good or will i not pick them up if the problem only happens sooo often....

 

You will have to use an analog voltage meter to check the voltage. I think you hit the red and black wire going to the tps and a ground. Turn the key on, but not starting it and monitor the voltage. It should be about 0.5 volts closed and WOT should be about 4.5 volts. Slowly turn the throttle linkage until WOT and watch the voltage meter's needle. If it jumps to zero or jumps around in general, the tps is bad. Good lucj with it.

My 02 Honda accord stays at an high Idle and when I go to drive it, it loses any power an wont really have any acceleration while trying to press the gas pedal it will like to sputter out an then die until i get a jump? I was thinking something to do with my air system or fuel pressure regulator so please if anybody has have the same issues please tell me what you got fixed for it to start running again
