Zdyne ecu or VAFC???
Hey guys, I'm thinking of getting the Zdyne one wire conversion for my SOHC VTEC in my EF. Now the price is pretty steep at around 350, but I was wondering if the VAFC would be a better alternative. I'm mainly getting it because my car isn't running quite right with the Si ecu. It's running rather rich. I'm thinking that I could just get the VAFC and get it tuned and it would have the same effect. Does anyone have any experience with either of these in their EF with SOHC VTEC???
Thanks.
Thanks.
i used a v-afc on a project car of mine before. it did allow me to tune the fuel curve... but nothing like a completely programable ecu would allow. now i know that you're not going to get the completely programmable ecu but i'd deff get the one wire vtec ecu before i got a v-afc to run vtec... it just doesn't seem right having vtec off of a non-vtec ecu...
If your just worried about runnin lean or rich the vafc is fine for that, if your going forced induction or are runnin a hardcore setup then zdyne is good for tunning.
I definitely agree with you on the ECU thing. I don't see how an ecu that wasn't designed for that engine could run it correctly. It would probably cost the same amount to get the VAFC and then get it tuned. So I guess I'll go with the Zdyne. Besides, I'm thinking of going Turbo some time down the road and I can always upgrade to the G-ECU from Zdyne. Thanks for the info guys.
