Default Sub box?

I just purchased a Rockford P210S4 subwoofer. I also purchased a Q logic ported box with a 1.00cu ft volume. In the subwoofer manual it states that a 1.25 cu ft box is recommended. Therefore, I was wondering if i put the sub in the 1.00 cu ft box I have now will it sound bad?
Thanks

chances are it will sound fine, But when you install it you could buy poly-fill put it inside the box. Poly fill is supposed to slow the air down and make the sub think it's in a bigger box.

Also please note the box i have can be ported or sealed by putting the provided plug over the hole. Rockford says for the ported it should be 1-1.5 they rec a 1.25 for a sealed it is .5 - 1 and they rec a .65

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by FK00GSR &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Does it make a diff if it is a ported box?</TD></TR></TABLE>Yes it makes a huge diff., for ported you need a 1.25 cu ft. net box so you need to add the speaker and port displacement, the speaker is 69.12 cu in. you need to tune the box to 40hZ or a better bet is to install it into a sealed box, 0.65 cu ft. net, there are programs, [box programs] out there that will let you work backwards, [with a box you already have] to find out what to tune it to, [lenth of port]. 94
