Default smoke at high RPM, bad oil? *searched

ok if i rev it or get it up to high RPMs (d16z6) i get some smoke out the exhaust.... i believe its a blu-blackish color (kinda like burned oil or something)
anyways, my oil is due for a change..so im gonna do the obvious and change it tomorrow, but if that doesn't help it...is there anything else it could be? from personal experience maybe? thanks

If the smoke is white/bluish, then that would be oil getting to the combustion chamber, through valves, valve seals or like piston rings.
If the smoke is black, then it is more fuel related. It means your are running rich in those rpm's.

.. do a compression check and come back to us and post the numbers..

How many miles does the engine have on it?

You actually can have good comp numbers and still burn oil...The top piston ring is what holds most compression in..The ring below that is what keeps the oil at bay...if this ring goes bad you can leak oil slowly.

Hit your gas pedal go to about 7k rpm...release your gas pedal and kick it in...

if there is smoke it's youre valve seals...

if you have smoke when you are on the gas pedal i think it's youre piston rings

i just thought of something...not sure if it would make a difference or not....
those motors (z6) are built to take 87 unleaded octane.....since i've had it i've been fillin it with 89 w/ ethanol....just curious but could it be burning too hot or anything?
