i heard someone say that if u have a OBD1 motor in a OBD2 car and switch the ecu to a OBD2 that u MIGHT be able to pass emissions?? is that true....im asking bcuzz i have a OBD1 b16 in a 98 ek with a p28 and i was wondering if i can use the 99-00 si obd2 ecu and pass emission and switch back to the p28 after..

 

You cant just switch between obd1 and obd2 with out a jumper im not sure if they make a jumper from obd1 to obd2. Does your car run really rich or something if not i tink i should be able to pass emissions but i dunno bout emissions where u live.

 

i would think you have to get it bar'd and im sure they will know its an obd1 motor ca smog sucks
